Our Beliefs
A summary of our beliefs in a point-by-point declaration. We truly realize that the life of the Journey Bible Church and the day-to-day activities cannot be summed up in this statement. Rather, this declaration gives us a base to deliver timeless truths through scripture and a source to live our daily life as we grow to be like our Jesus.
Read Our Beliefs
2 We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy. Spirit.
3 We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.
4 We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
5 We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin. Man is now therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
6 We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become the children of God.
7 We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are not, however, to be regarded as a means of salvation.
8 We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head.
9 We believe that only those who are members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
10 We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and the Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
11 We believe in the personal and premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
12 We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

Three Pillars
Explore the three pillars of the Journey Bible Church:
Read Our Three Pillars
Pillar one: A Cross
There are two definite crosses given to us in the Gospels. The first is the cross that Jesus was nailed to. It is on that cross our sins were paid in full. In the Gospel of John we read, “Later knowing all was completed…” (John 19:28). At this moment we learn that our sins were put on Him. The second cross is the one that we are called to take up. At the moment we decide to become followers of Jesus Christ we are told to “take up our cross and follow Him.”
Pillar two: A Yoke
We are to be yoked apprentices of Jesus Christ. We are to follow no other doctrine and live no other way than in the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is the great Rabbi whom we are to follow completely. Jesus gives an astounding statement to this measure so that we would understand the call He was asking, “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) We understand that many Rabbis’s had yokes or teachings. Jesus requires us to take His yoke (His teaching) and to bear it completely.
Pillar three: A Compass
We believe that we must have a compass setting for our life. We must have a true North and Jesus Christ is our True North. By taking up our cross and following Him and accepting His invitation to join His yoke we set our compass. It is our objective to gather people together and help them set their compass. By doing this we are fulfilling the Great Commission and making disciples of the nations.

Our mission is best expressed through our Calling, Compass Settings and Commitment.
